Significance

Ageing is something that happens to every person on this planet. This occurs as a result of cellular ageing. This cellular ageing can result in a variety of malfunction in organisms including ageing and age-related diseases. But what affects cellular ageing? Are there external factors or pathways in the cellular phenomenon that can be mediated? What diseases occur as a result of malfunction in these pathways?

Although we may not be able to prevent such diseases, we can attempt to understand them. Plausibly by creating an experimental model to mediate cellular ageing. This is what Bae et al (2016) did, in hopes of mediating this phenomenon in a manner to alter cellular senescence. This was done at the molecular level by examining secretory factors in a pathway within conditioned mice cells.
