SCALE PROJECT ASSIGNMENT
The scale project assignment entailed the selection of objects that were juxtaposed against each other as far as their "expected" size and proportions. I chose to use 2 objects, one being a pea on a vine, and the other being a plate of peas. For the pea on the vine, I simple blew up the image to make the peas appear to be larger than they would normally look, and therefore allowing them to dominate the image's background. However, I then altered the picture of my plate of peas so that it took on the form of a clock and placed this image in the center of the centermost pea on the vine. Thus, the scale of these 2 objects has been reversed, in that one would expect a pea on a vine to be smaller than a clock. At the same time, I placed the minimized "clock" on a black background in a prominent position within the image, so as to bring one's attention and focus back to the "smaller" object.
