BALANCE PROJECT ASSIGNMENT
The balance project assignment focused on creating an example of either symmetrical or assymetrical balance. I chose to create a design that fell somewhere between the two. Anchoring the right side of my design with a vibrant, cobalt blue vase, I then added two rolling marbles that created a sense of motion. The combination of these two elements creates some sense of balance in that the eye is drawn equally to the boldness and size of the vase, while also to the motion of the marbles at the same time. In addition, I flipped the table so that it is not immediately obvious to the viewer that the objects are rolling down a glass table.
