It’s now late spring 2007.
School is almost out for the year. Both Ali and Jordan
are excited for the summer. Ali will be going to sleep-away camp
outside of Knoxville, TN for close to a week at the end of June.
It's a gymnastics camp, and she'll be there with more than thirty of
her teammates, albeit the youngest. She is super excited, and
that's an understatement. To prepare for going away, she's learned
to take showers on her own, and can almost master combing through her
hair. For the rest of the summer, she'll be at
the gym 9 hours a week, and otherwise having playdates with friends or
hanging out at the pool. In the fall, she will start competing as
a Level 4 gymnast. Jordan
is still
playing chess, violin, and piano.
His soccer team finished the season with a great win at the
Colonial Cup tournament over Memorial Day weekend. It's always
fun to be champions.
He'll be going to chess camp, soccer camp, and fishing camp over the
summer, and will take a short summer school class so he can enroll in
Algebra in the fall as a 7th grader. We have opted not to
experiment again with prehistoric Triassic
shrimp. Lucy Mae, our Maltipoo, has been much more rewarding,
especially since she stopped digging holes in the yard and figured out
that her bathroom is not in the house.

December 1999: Alison Rose Bekenstein arrived at 7:53 am, December 7, and she was 6 lbs, 3 oz, and 20.5 inches long.
Jordan is dazzled by the Chanukah lights!
