The Link Between Mathematics and Music
Abstract: Mathematics and the arts are often
seen as unrelated. Mathematics is actually frequently used in music, such as
in sheet music. We will explore the different ways mathematics is used in
common sheet music, specifically in measures and notes. We will also
investigate how Pythagoras used his own research to link mathematics and
music, particularly in intervals.
