The only true extra credit opportunity is to take the pre- and post-assessment exams. Those are offered online during the first week of the course and during the final few weeks of the course. These exams cover a wide range of scientific knowledge, not just physics. Their purpose is to find out how well our science courses are doing.
To make it worth your while to take these exams, you get a half percentage point added to your overall score for the course for each of the two exams. In addition, you get up to another half percentage point added in proportion to how many questions you get right on the post-assessment exam.
For example, suppose that your overall score for the course adds up to 78.9% (That would be a C). You took both assessments, and got 60% of the questions right on the second one (That is about average by the way.). As a result, you have
0.5+0.5+0.6×0.5 = 1.3
added to your 78.9 and your overall score becomes
78.9+1.3 = 80.2
and you have a B for the course.
Some students think of the forum contributions as a possible form of extra credit. However, they only add to your quiz average, which is not allowed to go over 100%. Still, bringing your quiz average up to 100% is a pretty good deal.
