My name is Sylvia Moore, and I am a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I hope to work for a newspaper as a general assignment reporter. I especially enjoy investigative reporting. I have worked as a staff reporter with the Poquoson Island Times. While working as a news editor at the Poquoson Post in Poquoson, Va., I won a Virginia Press Association Award for sports feature writing in 1989. I am a staff reporter for the VCU student newspaper, the Commonwealth Times. Last semester, I was a photo editor for the VCU Society of Professional Journalist's publication for the homeless, Hard Times. I am a member of the Crutchfield chapter of Kappa Tau Alpha, the Honor Society for journalists, and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists.
