I am a 23-year-old senior at Virginia Commonwealth University, in the School of Mass Communications, news editorial sequence. I hope to graduate soon and join the working world as either a feature or hard news reporter. I have worked at various newspapers and had a blast doing it. I love journalism because I love to socialize and meet new, interesting people. You could never tie me down to a copy desk or keep me in an office all day, for I have to be out in the environment talking to people and getting great scoops! Actually, my interest in becoming a reporter was born from a love to gossip. Only now, I get the facts – not just rumors. I guess the last thing to mention is that I love learning and I feel that a reporter learns about people, places, government and ideas more than any person in any other occupation.
