A mythical beast in the Forbidden City. These come in different forms and may bring long life, provide protection, or bring good luck.



The Hall of Prayer for a Good Harvest, called the Temple of Heaven by English speakers. The inscription reads qi = prayer; nian = year; dian = palace -- pray for a good year.

As we climbed the back of the mountain at the Summer Palace we were at eye-level with this building's roof.



This is the famous Nine_Dragons wall, in Chinese it's called "Jiu Long Bi", Jiu - nine; Long - Dragon; Bi - Wall. There are total nine different dragons representing emperor. It locates in the National Palace Museum.

This is a Stone Boat - Shi Fang in chinese. In ancient time in China, People sat on it to enjoy the moon light in Moon Festival, drinking and missing family members who were not in home.



This is a pair of adorable Panda, they like to eat bamboo shoot. In Chinese word they are called "Da Xiong Mao"
