BioBIKE has been used in undergraduate and high school classes to enable students to discover concepts of molecular biology by computational experiment. For examples, go to the BioBIKE portal and click tours.   BioBIKE has enabled students to complete computational research projects as part of their first exposure to bioinformatics and computer programming.   A stripped down version of BioBIKE has been used as a vehicle through which 5th grade students visualized concepts of probability.

The common thread in these educational applications is discovery. Through BioBIKE, students can perform experiments with little instruction, testing their ideas as they develop. Likewise, educators, with little instruction, can devise experimental worlds for their students.
