Genomic sequencing has produced in recent times an overwhelming amount of information. Actually, the information was always there, contained in DNA. Now it is also contained within computers. Is this an advance? It is, but only in that digization of genetic information facilitates analysis, which can lead to insights into how our world works. Without effective analysis, we are no better off than before genomes were sequenced.
