Research Proposals |

Each class participant will submit a written proposal that justifies and describes a single experiment aimed at addressing a small part of a large and significant question of how something works at the molecular level. The aim is depth, getting to the bottom of an experiment to the extent that the proposer can explain the principles behind all techniques used and how the techniques contribute to the experiment. Each proposer has been mentored by a member of the VCU research community. Here's an example.
The proposer will also present the proposal to a panel of researchers. Each presentation will be about 7-8 minutes, with the same time for questions. You can see general advice that was given regarding how to write a research proposal and how to give a presentation.
