Preeti
Subramanian is from Mumbai, India. She has received her
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from University of
Mumbai, India and further pursued her Master’s degree in
Biochemistry from University of Mumbai. She is currently
working on her PhD thesis under the guidance of Dr.
Chalfant at Virginia Commonwealth, School of Medicine,
studying the role of ceramide-1-phosphate (C1P) as an
activator of cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2
alpha) in eicosanoid synthesis.
Preeti
is the winner of Young Investigator Award at the 39th
Annual Southeastern Regional Lipid Conference and was
presented with a travel award for an oral presentation
at the 40th Annual Southeastern Regional
Lipid Conference. She got a Student Fellowship Award
for an oral presentation at the 3rd
International Charleston Ceramide Conference. She is
the recipient of pre-doctoral fellowship from American
Heart Association.
She is a
trained Indian classical dancer. Other hobbies include
Aikido, painting and outdoor activities.
