Luciana is from
Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (you know … carnival, beaches, caipirinha,
Skol etc.), She obtained her undergraduate degree from
Fluminense Federal University majoring in veterinary sciences.
Then she went onto do her PhD in inflammation and cancer at Rio
de Janeiro Federal University, Brazil, studying the role of
phospholipases A2 (PLA2) in the activation
of colon cancer cells by environmental stress. Currently she is
working as a post doctoral research fellow. Her current work
focuses on characterizing alternative sources for
ceramide-1-phosphate (C1P) and studying the structural
requirements of C1P necessary for interaction with and
activation of cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2).
Her hobbies include dancing, chilling out, making and drinking
caipirinha, going to the beach and reading. |
