There are various clefs which can be used to designate the names of each line and space, but we will concentrate on the two most common clefs: treble and bass. The treble clef is used primarily for higher sounding pitches and looks like this: One basic technique for writing a treble clef is pictured below (I'm sure you can do a much better job than I did with this example!) The bass clef is a little easier. Make sure you place the two dots on either side of the second line from the top.
