KING LEAR PAPER
At the beginning of King Lear, old King Lear disowns the one daughter who loves him and leaves his kingdom to the two daughters who pretend to love him, though they actually have nothing but scorn for him. Near the end of the play, Lear awakens from his sleep, apparently transformed into someone with insight, perhaps even wisdom, for he now declares himself to be a "very foolish fond old man" (4.7.60).
