Inbetween
November 2003
Wood, paper

Artist's Objective: Creating positive forms from the irregular negative spaces inbetween two objects placed together. The keys add a minor element of self-potraiture, exact replicas of the keys I keep on the keyring in my purse.

Sandwich Artist
April 2003
Plexiglass, food

Artist's Objective: Capturing the experience of working at a sub shop inside a sneeze-guarded box. After one semester of working at subway, I was cynical about the "fresh" quality of the food. Meats, vegetables, and condiments stuffed inside plastic gloves stack up within the compartments of the box while trio of seemingly fresh subs sit on top.

Seaslugs
February 2003
Fabric, cotton stuffing, coffee filters

Artist's Objective: Materials were my main concern in this ant-gravity, underwater seascape. Coffee filters and fabric were manipulated into sea life.

Mystery Men
October 2003
Paper, cardboard

Artist's Objective: A last minute, all-nighter project. Don't ask me what it's about. I still have no idea.

Nude Sunbather in Butter
September 2003
Butter, Fabric

Artist's Objective: This greased down buttery sunbather melted within a half hour of being displayed. She became a puddle on the quilt that she reclined upon. This piece was inspired by the Polish tradition of baranek, passed down from my grandfather to me, in which a butter lamb is carved to decorate the Easter dinner table as a symbol of new life.
