Bass patterns!

Here are some of the more common bass line patterns. Study them, try playing them at the piano, sing them - do whatever you need to internalize these.

The modes!

I've written out the four modes you'll be working on in two different ways. New windows will pop up when you click on the links. The first shows the modes on the white keys of the piano only. The second uses key signatures to represent the major or minor basis from which to listen for the modal changes in each scale. Let me know if any of this is confusing to you.
